Pratima Ashok is an oil painter whose work celebrates her Indian culture and the stories that connect her to her heritage. Inspired by the vibrant colors and traditions of India, she primarily paints landscapes and florals, using oil paint to capture the richness, texture, and emotion of the natural world. Her work blends realism with expressive color, reflecting both places she has experienced and those that inspire her imagination.

Pratima's artwork is increasingly being recognized, including being selected as a finalist in the Art of a Scientist competition, with her work on display at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham. She is currently developing a series of oil paintings highlighting endangered animals, combining her love of nature with a desire to raise awareness for wildlife conservation through art.

Beyond the studio, Pratima is passionate about making art accessible to others. She has taught art lessons to pediatric patients at Levine Children's Hospital, encouraging creativity as a source of comfort and self-expression. She is also the co-founder of Art for Hearts, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing art opportunities to children facing medical challenges.

Currently a senior at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, Pratima continues to explore new subjects and techniques while creating work that reflects her love of culture, nature, and storytelling.
